Wieland's Metalynx2 Brings Power to Air Street

Wieland Electric's Metalynx2 structured wiring system was the preferred choice for feeding lighting and power cables through the newly refurbished Quadrant 2 building at 7-9 Air Street London.

Owned by The Crown Estates, Quadrant 2 is a Grade II listed property that has been totally redeveloped behind the existing facades to provide new Grade A office space, which has further enhanced Regent Street's reputation for a centre for global businesses.

All electrical work at Quadrant 2 was carried out by technical service providers Imtech, who specified Wieland's Metalynx2 for the project as it provides quick and failsafe installation using a unique coding system for power distribution. The system can also be used for HVAC, underfloor power and the complete integration of lighting controls using LON, DALI or KNX based systems.

Metalynx2 system offers a variety of benefits which include a labour saving of 70% compared to traditional methods and the environmentally friendly aspect which offers zero wastage time on site. The compact design allows simple installation through fire barriers or stud work walls and all Metalynx2 cables are low-smoke, zero-Halogen insulated, with single cores compliant with all IEC and British Standard legislations. Metalynx2 cables also have the added benefit of future proofing so any further reconfigurations can be easily adapted.

Wieland worked closely with Imtech to offer working CAD drawings, project management and on-site support as and when required to help meet completion deadlines for the Quadrant 2 project.
