Wieland's Metalynx2 System Makes the Right Connection at 30 Broadwick Street

Wieland Electric's popular Metalynx2 modular wiring system was the preferred choice for all power and lighting distribution throughout the recent refurbishment of 30 Broadwick Street based in Soho, Central London.

The BREEAM 'Excellent' rated project undertaken by BAM Construction Ltd was part of a £30m scheme for a new retail and office complex for building owners Great Portland Estates. The project involved partial demolition of a number of existing buildings and reconstruction of a new 130,000 square foot development.

Wieland's Metalynx2 system was specified and installed by BAM Construction throughout all six levels of office space of the building. Robert Biddle, Project Manager at BAM Construction Ltd commented "We required a system that could be delivered to meet our tight deadlines and Wieland's Metalynx2 system fitted our brief perfectly. Having a system arrive on site pre-tested and pre-wired allowed us to maximise the productivity on site. Should any layouts be changed or reconfigured at a later date, the Metalynx2 system provides total flexibility to accommodate this".

Metalynx2 offers a variety of benefits that include compact design for easy installation through fire barriers and stud work walls and is designed for the efficient installation of lighting circuits and other power requirements that are located above ceilings. All Metalynx2 cables are low-smoke, zero-Halogen insulated, with single cores compliant with BS 7211 and multi-cores constructed to BS 7211. The identification colours of the cores also comply with industry requirements.
